The essentials on booking, pickup, routes and rental terms in Georgia.
Booking and price
How do I choose a car for my trip?
Open the page of a specific car: you will find its own photos, specs, the minimum rental and the price for each rental length. An SUV or a comfort-class car is enough for paved routes; you do not need all-wheel drive for every road in Georgia.
How is the rental price worked out?
The price depends on the car, the rental length, the dates and the pickup place. The site shows the total for the whole rental before you send a request. If delivery to your pickup place has to be priced by hand, that is stated separately. We add no hidden charges.
What is the minimum rental?
Two days. The exact minimum is shown on each car's page and can depend on the pickup place.
How do I pay?
You pay when you collect the car. There is no online payment on the site and no card to enter. The manager confirms how you will settle before handover.
Can I cancel or change a booking?
Yes, free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed pickup time. No prepayment is needed for this. To cancel later, contact us with your booking number; any compensation is stated and agreed in advance.
Driver, documents and terms
What are the requirements for the driver?
The main driver and any additional driver must be at least 23 years old and have held a category B licence for at least 2 years. Some cars have stricter requirements; we tell you before confirming.
Do I need an international driving permit?
Only if your licence cannot be read in Georgian, Russian or Latin script, or if Georgian law requires extra confirmation of the document. Otherwise a valid national licence and a passport or ID card are enough.
Can I add a second driver?
Yes. One additional driver is added at no extra cost once their documents are checked and they meet the requirements.
What does the insurance cover?
Standard insurance is included in the price of every published car. The cover, the excess and your maximum liability are written in the contract and explained before handover.
Pickup, airports and return
Where can I collect the car?
In Tbilisi, at Tbilisi Airport, in Batumi, at Batumi Airport and in Kutaisi. Delivery to another city can be requested when you book; whether it is possible, and what it costs, is confirmed separately.
Can I collect the car at the airport?
Yes, at Tbilisi or Batumi Airport, for bookings that fit the rental length and terms. Choose the airport and your dates — the site shows the cars available, and the manager confirms the exact meeting point.
What if my flight is delayed?
Let us know through any of our contacts. Your booking number and flight number help us agree a new handover time quickly.
Do I have to give a flight number?
No. You can add it later, but a flight number makes the airport handover easier to arrange.
Where exactly do we meet at the airport?
The meeting point depends on the airport and the handover time. The manager gives it in your booking confirmation.
Can I return the car in another city?
Yes, if the route and the car allow it. A one-way return is agreed in advance and priced individually.
Routes and driving in Georgia
Do I need an off-road vehicle in Georgia?
A regular SUV or a comfort-class car is enough for most paved routes. All-wheel drive and extra ground clearance help on some mountain roads, and it is best to agree such a route in advance.
Can I leave Georgia or drive difficult mountain routes?
Driving to another country, or on difficult high-mountain or seasonally restricted roads, is allowed only with written agreement in advance. This applies to off-road vehicles too.
What do I do after an accident or a breakdown?
Stop somewhere safe and contact Geo Car com straight away. After an accident, or whenever the situation calls for it, call the Georgian emergency service on 112. Do not order repairs, and do not leave the scene in breach of the law, without agreeing it with us.
What should I keep in mind on Georgian roads?
In the mountains, watch the weather, the visibility and seasonal restrictions. Take hairpin roads slowly, follow the signs, and agree your route in advance if you plan high-mountain roads.
How does parking work in Tbilisi and Batumi?
Central districts often have paid city parking, and the rules and zones differ between cities. Check road markings and signs; fines and parking charges incurred during the rental are paid by the driver.
