Car rental terms

1. Booking

A booking is agreed once Geo Car com confirms it; if delivery, the route or special conditions need to be clarified, once those are agreed. A rental contract and a handover report are signed at pickup.

2. Driver and documents

The driver must be at least 23 years old and have held a category B licence for at least 2 years. Some cars have stricter requirements; we tell you before confirming.

At pickup you need your original driving licence and a passport or ID card. If the licence cannot be read in Georgian, Russian or Latin script, an international driving permit or an official translation is required.

Only drivers named in the contract may drive; one additional driver is free of charge. Handover may be refused if documents are invalid, if there are signs of intoxication or if there is a clear safety risk.

3. Price, payment and deposit

The price is in US dollars; the amount in GEL is a guide at the current rate. The total is confirmed before handover.

You pay when you collect the car; there is nothing to pay on the site. The refundable deposit is 100 to 300 US dollars depending on the car, and the manager agrees the exact amount with you. The deposit is returned after inspection if there is no new damage, missing fuel or fines. Any additional payment is made only with the customer's consent.

4. Rental period, pickup and return

The minimum rental is shown on the car's page; for most cars it is 2 days. A rental day is 24 hours from the pickup time.

The car's condition, fuel level, mileage and any damage are recorded in the handover report.

Returning up to 1 hour late does not normally count as a new day if agreed in advance; a longer delay may be charged as the next day. Agree any extension or change of return place before the rental ends. Unused days on an early return are recalculated only by agreement.

5. Fuel, mileage and interior

Return the car with the same fuel level as at pickup; missing fuel is charged at cost. Mileage is unlimited unless the car's page states a limit. Smoking in the car is not allowed. Ordinary road dust and wear are not charged; a strong smell, stains or dirt that needs special cleaning are deducted at the confirmed cost.

6. Insurance

Standard insurance is included. The cover, the excess and the customer's maximum liability are written in the contract and explained before handover; additional cover is the customer's choice.

Insurance does not normally apply in cases of intoxication, handing the car to a driver not named in the contract, deliberate damage, racing, leaving the scene of an accident or travelling abroad without permission. Tyres, wheels, glass, the underbody and the interior are covered depending on the package. Liability is never increased retroactively.

7. Where you can drive

You can drive within Georgia, on roads suitable for the car. Travel to other countries is allowed only with written permission from Geo Car com, with the documents and insurance arranged. Off-road and high-mountain routes, including Tusheti and Omalo, must be agreed in advance, even in an off-road vehicle. Racing, driving lessons, subletting and commercial transport are not allowed without agreement.

8. Accidents, breakdowns and fines

After an accident, a breakdown or the loss of keys or documents, stop somewhere safe and contact Geo Car com straight away; call 112 if needed. Do not leave the scene of an accident, do not admit fault and do not order repairs without agreement.

Fines, parking and towing during the rental are paid by the customer, including confirmed fines that arrive after the car is returned. A breakdown that is not the customer's fault is fixed by Geo Car com; if the car cannot be driven, we offer assistance or a replacement.

9. Cancellation

Cancellation and changes are free up to 48 hours before handover. After that, or in case of a no-show, compensation of no more than the first day's price may apply — only if the customer confirmed this condition in advance. Without a prepayment and that consent there is no penalty.

10. Replacement car

If the chosen car cannot be handed over, Geo Car com offers a comparable or higher class at no extra cost, or free cancellation. A cheaper replacement lowers the price; any other replacement is made only with the customer's consent.

11. Enquiries and governing law

Questions and complaints are accepted on WhatsApp, Telegram and through the other contacts on geo-car.com; please give your booking number. Georgian law applies; mandatory consumer rights are preserved, and the confirmed terms of a specific rental take precedence over this text.
